Nov. 19th, 2007 04:08 pmSheriff: Teenage Hunter Who Was Shot Had Covered His Blaze Orange
"Waushara County sheriff's authorities say the teenage hunter accidentally shot and killed by his grandfather had covered his blaze orange clothing with a brown and white blanket.
Sheriff David Peterson today identified the shooter as 63-year-old Gerald Ruck from Three Lakes. He mistook his 18-year-old grandson, David Ruck, for a deer while they hunted on private property in the Town of Saxeville yesterday.
The sheriff says the blanket obscured the grandson's blaze orange clothing. Peterson says their investigation shows it was a "tragic accidental shooting."

I could make a comment about the wisdom of providing teenagers with guns, but I won't, because my views on the subject of firearms are a little farther to the left than standard even here.
