Not just moms for that matter. Dads don't like them either

No Bratz allowed? Moms prefer sweeter dolls

"Moms are hunting through toy aisles for more wholesome-looking dolls, concerned the scantily clad Bratz dolls with their Party Palaces and Magic Make-up Studios are sending their daughters the wrong message about how they should dress and act.

With their heavily made-up faces, short shorts and halter tops, Bratz are the No. 2 best-selling dolls in the country, just behind Barbie, but creeping up on her with their own lines of clothing, school supplies, video games and, most recently, a live-action movie playing in theaters.

And some Moms are not happy about it.

Now I do admit, I found it funny watching little Islamic girls in the Doha Toys R Us, buying carts of Bratz dolls with their parents beaming approval. (I was amazed they even SOLD the damn things there!)

But that being said, I hate and lothe those "My Little Streetwalker" toys. Why on earth would anyone give their child those big-headed anorexic freaks, much less Bratz-like clothing ? I can't see why any parent would want their young child to be dressing like a prostitot.

And we won't go into the self-image those damn things give a child.

One of the many reasons why I'm glad Little Bit has taken to "Groovy Girls". And she knows that both her parents do not like Bratz dolls at all.

I have never liked Slutz dolls either. What freaks me out is that when Alex was in elementary school, certain parents would let their kids dress that way at school. Normally, you don't see a dress code in elementary. They ended up instituting one as a couple of first graders were wearing short shorts and tummy tops. I would have just loved to have smacked certain parents upside the head.

Thank goodness Alex has never asked me if she could wear that sort of stuff. She is body shy being so tall, but I am sure that time is coming soon. 11 years old (almost 12) and almost 5'9...... *shudder*

And then there's the charming name. Why would ANY sensible person want their child to admire a Brat?
