Pluses and Minuses

Plus side: The trailer for the next Star Trek Movie looks good. Minus side: It looks like they're building the Enterprise (no bloody A, B, C or D....) on the surface. Building in a gravity well? Even the Martian surface seems too much to fight against.......

I don't think the Enterprise actually will be featured in the film.

From what I've read, the movie is supposed to be about Kirk and Spock in their Academy days -- I doubt even Pike was at a command-level at that time.

No, but Pike wasn't the Enterprise's first Captain anyway. Robert April was. (at least according to the animated series, which Paramont occasionally pays attention to.)

Yeah, building in a gravity well does seam odd.

There is a good chance this isn't movie footage at all. Just something to keep all the fanboys busy while they work on the real film.

I've watched it 8 times, so I guess its working. ;)
