Just thinking that for as much as I was glad to leave Doha, and as much as I love the Pacific Northwest.......

.....there's a small bit of me that actually misses living in Doha.

Not really. I grew up in Las Vegas. Ya know, that other desert that has a place in it that is obnoxious with people who can't drive ;)

For one, its not raining all the damned time, but then again, it's not 120+ here temp wise either ;)

Every place has its own beauty and its own attraction.
From what I learnt it just means that you carry something good with you that makes every place you stay have something worth seeing and remembering.

I don't think that's weird. Most places have something good about them that is worth missing. Missing something about a place and actually wanting to live there again are two different things though.
