Sunday I celebrated my 42nd birthday.

Not bad for someone who spent his 20's convinced he wouldn't see 33. (chuckle)

It's odd. I don't feel like I'm 40. Ever since puberty at a late age, I always felt like my mental age and physical age were 5-6 years out of sync. Mentally I'm in my mid-30's. Physically it's another matter entirely. And of late my knees in particular are reminding me of my real age. (not to mention that, after 39 years of having the same eyeglasses perscription, I'm noticing it takes a couple minutes in the morning for my eyes to focus enough to read Which is making me suspect I better get rechecked soon). But all that is physically. Mentally, my mind isn't feeling the age at all.

Every so often I feel it. Things I wish I had done differently. Things I wish I hadn't done at all. Elements of my life and heart I miss. That's normal for being a human being though.

Of course, chasing after a six year old tends to help keep young. (smile)

42 is supposed to be the answer to life, the universe, and everything. Maybe this year I at least figure out the answers to and for me.

I just turned 30, I feel about 24-ish maybe. I still don't feel like and adult, like its some secret club that I don't belong to and maybe only get to join after I have kids or something. :P

I hope you had a wonderful celebration of your birthday and that you will have many, many more.

It's a good year for answers....

Chasing after a six year old will either keep you young beyond your years----or age you prematurely. No middle of the road. [grin]
