Random Mutterings.....
Mar. 11th, 2008 10:51 amLet's see where things stand now.....
Sen. McCain - Again, the 2000 McCain I could cheerfully vote for. Someone who had the guts to tell the religious right to get the hell out of the party. The 2008 version, kowtowing to the same religious right and making himself into "Bush-Light", not so much. A lot is going to depend on who is running mate is.
Rep. Paul -Okay, I know he dropped out. Still, there's a lot about him I could tolerate and/or like
Sen. Gravel - The zen nutcase from Alaska?? *Chuckle* I still think a debate between him and Paul would have been funny. However, not a chance.
Sen. Obama - Very mixed feelings. There's a lot about him I like, and a lot about him I don't like. I would have liked a lot more experience. And while he's still got more experience than Sen. Clinton, I would prefer more seasoning before opting for the White House. Like McCain, a lot is going to depend on his choice of running mate - I think an Obama/Clark or Obama/Richardson ticket would be ideal, and offer a mix of experience and talents.
Some of his supporters bug me though. He ain't the baby Jesus people.
Sen. Clinton - Started off with very high negatives, and has done nothing to improve my opinion of her. The nasty campaigning of late has made matters far worse. She seems far too willing to adopt a scorched earth policy, and if she gets the nomination, she's going to discover she may have salted the earth too badly for the crop of voters to grow.
Between McCain and Obama, I tend to slightly prefer Obama.
Between McCain and Clinton, I tend to prefer McCain or None of the Above.

I make no commentary on whether I agree with any of said stats, but I find the attempt amusing :-).
