Holy shit!! First Minghella, now Arthur C Clarke! What a day in the obits. I loved the Rama series; let's hope his rendezvous will take him on a journey just as profound.

He was a pioneer and he'll be missed. I remember whenever there was excitement in Sri Lanka that whatever news service I was reading would report "Arthur C. Clarke is unharmed".
