So what is ON that "laundry list of things (they) can use to deny or revoke a license" if having a 12 year old dancing nude doesn't cut it???

Dance Club Where 12-Year-Old Danced Won't Be Closed

"The city cannot shut down a Dallas strip club just because a 12-year-old danced nude there.

The city ordinance that regulates sexually oriented businesses does not allow authorities to revoke the license of such a business for employing someone under 18.

"There's a laundry list of things we can use to deny or revoke a license, but having a 12-year-old dancing in their establishment is not one of the things that automatically enables us to revoke their license," said Lt. Christina Smith, a Dallas police vice unit commander who oversees licensing of such establishments.

Authorities said that over a two-week period last year, the sixth-grader danced at Diamonds Cabaret. They also say they found a 17-year-old girl working in the club in January."

On a side note, wonder if the 12 year old had one of the lower back temp tattoos sold at Toys R Us....

I suspect it's one of the technicalities: it sounds like the law requires the club knowingly employ a minor in a position involving sexual display before it's license can be revoked, not merely for having her on the payroll. If the minor's got sufficiently convincing ID and wouldn't obviously appear underage (and in this day and age I'm not willing to rule out a 12-year-old looking like a clean-shaven small-breasted 18-year-old (one of the girls in my high-school class could have, at 18, easily passed for 8 if she wanted to)), the authorities would have to inform the club of the problem first. Once that's done the club can be nailed if they let her dance again, but not if they drop her or even if they just restrict her to working as a waitress or something not involving taking her clothes off.

They can hit the owner and operators, but not the business itself. It's a protection ordinance for employees.

Sounds like they jumped the gun...the TATOOZ were supposed to come out at the same time as the Bratz Passion Fashions For Girls (tm)...
