HELHEIM: 'We Need To Let Metal And Odin Catch The Kids Before Jesus Does!' - Apr. 21, 2008

"A couple of Norwegian media outlets have posted video footage of HELHEIM's performance at a public kindergarten earlier today (Monday, April 21).

The Norwegian Viking metal band celebrated the release of its brand new studio album, "Kaoskult", by playing acoustic versions of two songs from the CD — "Det Norrøne Alter" and "Svart Seid" — at Klosteret Barnehage. In addition, the band also told tales from Norse mythology, which has been of great inspiration for HELHEIM since the band was formed in 1992."

Eh. It is okay. Here is the best music video ever. It is from a Viking metal group called Tyr. They are singing in Faroese, which along with Icelandic, is one of the two examples of Old Norse left. Norwegian is no longer close to Old Norse.

Tyr are AWESOME. They're playing in L.A., but alas that's too far away for an evening show (Paganfest). We've seen Amon Amarth though, and that's led to my Danish husband getting back to his traditional religious roots in a very interesting way.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I just scored two tickets for PaganFest at the Hard Rock Cafe on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood! This is the first tour that Tyr has done for the US and Hroar and I get to see them, thanks to you!!!
Yay!!! Wow. I feel like a teenager again!

While the Hard Rock Cafe concert is Thursday, the one in Long Beach is Saturday. Perhaps if you drive to Long Beach during the day, get a hotel/motel for the night, you could drive back leisurely on Sunday? It isn't like Tyr plays in the US often...
