Panel: Reduce NASA Role in Space Launches

"The role of NASA "must be limited to only those areas where there is irrefutable demonstration that only government can perform the proposed activity," according to a summary obtained by The Associated Press that was prepared by the president's commission. Its final report is expected later this week.

The commission determined that NASA should recognize "a far larger presence of private industry in space operations with the specific goal of allowing private industry to assume the primary role of providing services to NASA, and most immediately in accessing low-earth orbit.""

Also thinking of going to the Barony of Starkhafn's Collegium of the Desert again this year. (August 7th and 8th, Henderson Nevada).

Depends on the classes offered I guess.

Hmm.....I could go up from San Diego to Barstow via I-5, and then drive the "Mother Road", (i.e. Route 66), from Barstow to Needles. And then, once in Arizona, go up from Needles to Henderson. That would complete my plan of driving every drivable part of Route 66 in California.....ponder.

Went out to get lunch at UTC food court.

[sarcasm] Gee, it must be *SO* nice to have the all-terrain combat strollers like the two women who *CUT* in line in front of me had. After all, their precious sproglings must be so bloody important that they can ignore the six people in line and just cut straight to the front of said line. You know, the line they stopped at *LOOKED* at before they cut in front?? [/sarcasm]

Which I actually said loud enough for the people around me to hear. Yes, I was not being nice. Deal with it. I've pushed strollers around in shopping malls as well, and didn't pull this kinda crap.

When one of them said "sorry, I was in a hurry and it's difficult trying to handle a baby", I said "Well, I have a toddler, so I understand the difficulty. Personally I think you could have used the time in line to actually set a proper example for your child."

Yes, I was not being nice.
