Blame [livejournal.com profile] seattlejo. She introduced me to it in March.

No, not Woot. I already knew about it.

No, the sibling site, shirt.woot.com.

Here's the deal. Each day at 10pm PST, another shirt with an original design, sold for $10 (includes s&h). This design stays until the initial run is sold out or 24 hours passes. The original artist gets $1000 if they use the design + $2.00 per shirt sold.

After a couple days, a limited number of the shirt designs go into the "Day of Reckoning". These shirts are sold for a limited time at $15.00.

But wait, you also have the Derby. On fridays, the derby starts. You have a few days to vote for the designs you like, based on various themes. The top four enter the "fog of war", and the three winners from the fog are sold the following Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. (this week's derby is based on the theme of the game "Civilization - Revolution".)

So far, the shirts I've liked (and sometimes gotten)have been:

Finding Technicolor
Army in my Pocket
Now Let Me Get This Straight ([livejournal.com profile] sweet_kitty_gal liked this one)
Perpetual Emotion
Say No To Scurvy
Swim, Little Nessie!(or as they describe it "Plesiosauradorable")
Live Wire
PolarSnugglePhant
Dragonly Love (Some of the moms I know would like this one)
Treacherous Waters
Canadian Periodic Table (No Poutine??)
Walking Through The Forest
Easter Bear(Got this one for [livejournal.com profile] cormac)
Northern Lights
Spring-ATRON R.E.S.U.B.
The Carpal Tunnelizer

Dangerous site. Dangerous indeedy

My baby bro is a big fan of theirs. He wears a woot shirt just about every day to work.

If you look at our most recent vacation pics in my gallery, you'd notice that Paul is wearing a shirt.woot garment nearly every day.

It goes in fits and starts for us - nothing for weeks and then 4 days in a row that I'm purchasing shirts.

Dangerous indeed.

Indeed. Deb and I have a tendency to mark which designs in the derby fog we like - and will order one for both of us on occasion.

We won't wear the same shirt designs at the same time though. Too twinsy.... :-)

Aron made the comparison between my woot obsessiveness and my former BPAL obsessiveness, he's right its got a lot in common and it was kind of sobering to me.

Just because the mail person accidently dropped off a woot bag for someone else in a different block......

Oh, wait, never mind....
