Many years ago, there was a allergy and sinus OTC medicine called Tavist-D. The old stuff, not the later version.

The old version was very well at clearing your sinuses. Along with pesky things like independent thought or anything else cluttering up your head. Basically you had the brain power of tapioca. But you could breathe!

I just tried Claritin-D.

Wow. I've got marginally more brainpower than a goldfish right now and the attention span of a flashbulb. But hey, I can breathe!

Zyrtec is my friend. As I recall, it has a -D version too, but I've never used it; I'll take a seperate decongestant if the antihistamine isn't enough.

I've tried Zyrtec once and really liked it. My allergies grind up Claritin (and Allegra for that matter) and snort it to get high.

I thought of trying Zyrtec, but it didn't say it was non-drowsy. Since most antihistimines zonk me right out, I didn't want to run the risk.

However, considering how woozy Claritin is making me.......

From what the doctor told me, It is supposed to only make 1% of the people who take it drowsy

Claritin and Allegra are supposed to be non-drowsy. Zyrtec is supposed to be less drowsy than the really drowsy ones (e.g. Benadryl). [EDIT: some folks do get woozy/migraines/funny side effects from Claritin...not necessarily drowsy/sleepy per se.]

I tried switching from Allegra back to Zyrtec last weekend, but my allergies got really bad and I had nasty postnasal drip (that incited major heartburn all the way up into my mouth) those two nights...but everyone else was also having really bad allergy issues those days, so I may have to give it another test.
