Was doing some thinking of humans in Narnia. (Inspired in part by a post from [livejournal.com profile] cormac)

Now Narnia has had three waves of human and part-human kings and queens.

The first wave was Frank and Helen. Their line (and humans for that matter) died out in Narnia, but continued in Archenland.

Then there was the Penvensie reign. Though they were the only humans there, and would have died out if they hadn't disappeared.

Then there was the Temarine reign, human up until Caspian X and his marriage to the daughter of a retired star, (and partly human after that).

Outside of Narnia, the human groups seem to be Archenland and Calor.

Here's a problem though.

Just where did enough of a breeding population come from? I'll assume that Frank and Helen's children didn't interbreed. And I can't buy that all the Telmarines are descended from just six pirate captains and their wives. To speak nothing about the Calormen.

Aslan said there were "chinks" and holes between our world and Narnia. Holes that time must have flowed backwards, since the Telmarines and Calormen seem to come from earlier stock than the Victorian era Frank and Helen.

And certainly it seems that certain of those chinks and holes - and the people that came though - were a bit planned. Which makes me think of something.

The whole of Narnia, from it's creation to it's end, was a planned simulation by the Emperor-Over-the-Sea and Aslan. A type of wargame if you will, or the Sims on a macro scale. With wholescale swiping from parts of Earth to boot.

I can see it. After the Last Battle......

Aslan - "Well, so much for that scenario!"

Emperor-Over-the Sea - "Yeah, no kidding. Talk about Butterfly Effect, one random variable at the start and everything went straight to hell"

Aslan - "Don't look at me, I TRIED to get things set to rights again!"

EotS - "Hey, Junior, chill out, I know you tried. Damn it. I knew I shouldn't have recycled that code from the Charn scenario. My fault. Oh well, back to the drawing table"

Aslan - "Thanks pops. Oh, can I save a backup of the character files from the Narnia simulation? I'm kinda fond of them, especially the ones I swiped from that Earth MMORPG we've got running."

EotS - "Sure kid, knock yourself out. Visiting those old games can be kinda fun at time"

Aslan - "Yeah I know. Anyway pops, want to split a pizza and call it a night?"

EotS - "Sure! 'Computer, Arch'" (They walk out.......)

Only in the sense of humans being the "Sons of Adam and Daughters of Eve".

That's terribly plausible...

did you get to see Prince Caspian yet? near the end they ask certain people if they want to go back ....I think they have power to create certain holes to travel back and forth.. and some just chose to stay once they have accidentally landed there.. and that makes new generation and blood lines.

Little Bit and I saw it last sunday, plus I'm reading the books to her,

In some cases, people fall though and stay because they have no choice. Though I suspect Aslan may have nudged the Telmarines a bit too.

The entry back to our world at the end of Prince Caspian was as much to send the children back as to allow the Telmarines that didn't feel they could live under King Caspian's rule to leave. They obviously didn't go back to a London Tube platform though. And I suspect they may have gone back in time as well - since Aslan seems to have some control over that.
