Somehow I don't think watching a TV show caused you to act wild during your teen years. Try again please.

'Sex and the City' Fiend: Show Turned Me Into Samantha

"You can only watch Samantha Jones bed so many gorgeous guys before wondering if 4-inch heels and sky-high confidence would allow you to do the same.

At least that's what happened to "Lisa" (not her real name). She got hooked on "Sex and the City" when she was a 14-year-old growing up on Long Island, N.Y. It was the same year she lost her virginity. She soon graduated to ordering cosmopolitans at bars she snuck into and cheating on her boyfriend with up to seven other guys -- in one week.

"When you're that age you try to emulate people on TV. Carrie smoked, so I smoked, Samantha looked at hooking up with random people as not a big deal, so that's what I did too," said Lisa, now 22. "It wasn't 'Sex and the City's' fault. I love the show, but I think it made it a little easier to justify my behavior."

I guess "Cheers" fans have to worry about turning into barflies, "MASH" fans have to worry about becoming cynical doctors in wartime, "Scooby Doo" fans have to worry about getting caught by meddlesome kids, Watching "House" will make you a brilliant pill-popping misanthrope, "Torchwood" will force you to boink anything willing, and "Star Trek(TOS)" fans have to worry about ripping their shirts and boinking green chicks.

Don't forget... If video games influenced our behavior, those of us who grew up in the 80s would be running around dark rooms punctuated by flashy lights, listening to electronic music and popping pills.

Oh wait... :>

I am now concerned about your fondness for "Aqua Teen Hunger Force".

I'd be more concerned about my fondness for OZ.

I'm disadvantaged by the types of TV shows that were around in my youth. If the girls of my school had had access to such programming I might have had a social life.

At least she admits that it's not the show's fault, she's just using it to justify what she knows is inappropriate behavior.
