The Dark side, and the not-so-good side
May. 22nd, 2003 09:55 amFound a couple days ago the new "limited edition" Dark Chocolate Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Kit Kat bars. Also the just as new and just as limited edition White "Chocolate" Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Kit Kat bars.
(Side note: The company that makes Kit Kats in the UK had a mint one for a while. *That* I would love to see here.)
The dark chocolate Reese's was a lot like their cookie cups. Not too sweet, fairly good, would have been really good in ice cream.
The dark chocolate Kit Kat bars were also quite good. I actually liked them better than regular Kit Kats.
However......
I'll preface my comments by saying I'm not the world's greatest white "chocolate" fan. If it's really good, (like a friend's white chocolate fudge), I don't mind it.
That being said, the best thing I can say about the white "chocolate" Reese's is that it has peanut butter in it. It was bland and tasteless otherwise. The white "chocolate" Kit Kat was just plain bland - it was like eating cardboard dipped in cocoa butter.
