(Psssst. Hey, Archie. It's sad that the property owner wants to go month-to-month (more than likely to sell the property for Yet More Ballard Condos), and double sad you're needing to move. So, here's a hint. Greenwood. Greenwood's nice, it has character, and I think you could do well. Maybe gut out that closed McDonald's??)

Archie McPhee's movin' on - Quirky landmark will relocate after property owner lets leases expire

"The owner of 70,000 square feet in downtown Ballard -- home to quintessentially quirky Archie McPhee and a family boat dealership -- says he is letting the businesses' leases expire, opening the way to perhaps selling the valuable property.

Bob Jacobsen Jr., trustee for the estate holding the property, said he has offered Jacobsen's Marine and Archie McPhee month-to-month tenancies when their leases expire at year-end, in a bid to keep his options open.

The multiblock parcel, which stretches west along Market Street from 24th Avenue Northwest and one block north to Northwest 56th Street, "is a pretty big piece, and if you built it high enough, you would have a good view of the canal," Jacobsen said."

and

"Meanwhile, Archie McPhee, the landmark Seattle store for compellingly useless toys, confirmed it turned down Jacobsen's offer of month-to-month tenancy and is leaving 2428 N.W. Market St., after nine years there, heading for an as-yet-undetermined location.

Now where are you going to get your yodeling pickles and glow-in-the-dark zombie finger puppets?

All the store has decided is that the new location will be in Seattle but will not be in Ballard, marketing manager David Wahl said."

That McDonalds location would be bad news. There are other renovations going on in that area, supposedly going to encompass from fred meyer up to Greenwood itself It didnt close because of lack of business.
