I'm hoping financially it's going to be an "ouch", rather than a "slugged over the head, beaten and left bloody and unconsious in the gutter" thing.

Good luck! We just got Hroar's van back from getting new brakes. They were grinding and there was no way I was going to drive over the Grapevine with bad brakes. Verdict? Every part of the brake system was badly rusted because Hroar lived in the mid-West with all that snow and such. Everything had be replaced. Cost? $1090.00 Boy are we broke now. I have that "slugged over the head, beaten and left bloody and unconsious in the gutter" feeling. Since I have already been victimized, I hope that you get missed.
