The Oct. 17 concert dubbed "Duty Now for the Future" at the Akron Civic Theatre will benefit the Summit County Democratic Party in its efforts get Obama in the White House.
DEVO was recognized by its red conical "energy dome" hats in the 1970s and 1980s and recorded such songs as "Whip It," "Gates of Steel," and "Freedom of Choice."
The band's four members now live in Los Angeles. But co-founder and frontman Mark Mothersbaugh says Ohio is where the band needs to be to help Obama in the battleground states."
