I had this spooky mental image of a McCain win, with crowds in Guy Fawkes masks coming and surrounding the White House silently. Happily, we won't need to do that. :-D

Harry watched _V for Vendetta_ last night after the outcome of the presedential election was announced. I would like to have been able to make a wheelchair transfer so I could have watched it with him. L like democracy (warts and all) because we aren't ready for anarchy, but I've never forgotten the poli sci professor that introduced me to the concept that democracy is "the last and subtlest form of tyrrany." (Hell, with a little help from W, it hasn't been all that *subtle* these past eight years. I like our president-elect but I will always mourn for the unimaginably distant future in which we won't *need* presidents and prime ministers.

*smiles* I was at my boyfriends lake house yesterday and there was a guy in a boat in the middle of the lake in a Guy Fawkes outfit shouting his monologue and setting off bottle rockets. It was interesting. lots of people were just on the lake staring and laughing. It was great fun! *laughs*
