Just on a whim, I added my old ICQ number to my Adium list.

Wow. Literally nobody on my ICQ friends list was on line - or showed signs of even using it anymore.

I'm kinda amused.

We use it daily...find it essential as we live much of the year 2300 miles apart. I've yet to find anything else that works better (or tolerates Win98SE).

I have yet to figure out the deal with ICQ. That and cooking are my touchstones for what technophobes must feel like when they sit down at a computer.

I have it as one of the things that Miranda and Pidgin log me into, along with AOL, Yahoo, and MSN, but I hardly ever have one of them on unless I'm planning to meet someone to chat. So, it's not surprising you don't see me on :-). I think, though, that ICQ is kind of redundant now, since it's just AOL under a different name (shrugs).

I'm still on ICQ, as are about a dozen other people I know. All of these people are also on MSN, skype, ... and the like so it's kind of redundant.
