Dear DC Comics.....
Jan. 22nd, 2009 01:11 pmOkay, I understand you got enough fan backlash to bring back Hal Jordan as a Green Lantern. Personally, I liked Kyle, but I understand that there were enough Hal fans out there to bring him back from the dead.
And for the most part, I've rather enjoyed the lead in to "Blackest Night", and so far have liked the idea of the Blue Lanterns and Red Lanterns, (Along with Yellow, Indigo, Orange, Purple, etc.) It makes sense to key colours to different mental forces and emotions, each with it's own strengths and weaknesses, even if it kinda screws over poor Rot Lop Fan. (Though I'm wondering if you're using the "Black Lanterns" as a counterpoint to the "Marvel Zombies" line of comics)
But can you just MAYBE stop using Hall Jordan as your whipping boy?? Okay, I understand he's supposed to be a kick-ass Green Lantern. And I can understand that he's used that mantle in a way to bring hope to many races, enough that the ex-Guardians who started the Blue Lanterns believe he's suited to eventually lead them.
Okay, fine he blew his top at Sinestro and was about to use the "lethal force" option against a Yellow Lantern, but was he REALLY angry enough to have a freaking Red Lantern ring clamp itself on his hand??
He starts out a Green Lantern. The Blues want him, and now the Reds claimed him. WHAT THE HELL IS NEXT?? Is he going to end up completing the whole set?? Let's see:
Black, because, after all, he WAS dead,
Yellow, because he hosted Parallax and created great Fear while doing so,
Orange, because he Greedily stole the other Green Lantern's power rings,
Indigo, because one of his strengths was Compassion
Purple, because one could argue his Love for Coast City and Carol Ferris led him to....well. lose it at times.
Is he going to end up all blinged out like a freaking cosmic pimp and be the Rainbow Lantern???
Oh, and BTW, the new "no romance or relationships between members of the Green Lantern corps? STUPID idea Guardians, really freaking stupid.

Date: 2009-01-22 09:18 pm (UTC)No relationships in the GLC. Naaah, that won't last. The Guardians have not gotten any for so many centuries, they have no idea anymore. Send the Violet Lantern Corps and leaders to e'splain it to them. Don't they have some kind of Guardians too, the little blue guys' former mates?
