Well, the programming grid for Norwescon is up. So taking a look (and yes, I know there's overlap)

Thursday:

http://norwescon.org/documents/panel_grid/thursday_pm_grid_v1.pdf

3-5 - "How to Knit Maile" looks good.
4-5 - "Have Vampire Novels Jumped the Shark". (Looking at Anne Rice, Laurel K. Hamilton, Stephanie Meyer (okay, those aren't REAL vampire novels), and a few other repeat offenders.) Yes, next!
5-6 - "Medieval Games and Pastimes" also looks fun.
6-7 - "Twilight - great story or great marketing". Well, it's not the story, that's for damn sure. So I'm forced to conclude that the person who's marketing this series could pitch nuns being molested by collies, and have people LINE UP for the experience.
8-9 - "Doorstops: Truly Enormous Books and Series" You mean OTHER than "Wheel of Time"??
8-9 - "Megalithic Engineering Around the World" Now THAT looks like fun!
8-9 - "The Nuclear Renaissance" Also looks like fun

Friday:

http://norwescon.org/documents/panel_grid/friday_pm_grid_v1.pdf

11-12 - "Costume Project Management" Could be useful.
12-1 - "Herbal Remedies and Modern Science" Could be interesting
2-3 - "Costumes with the 501st" Yep, I'm there.
3-4 - "The Rebel Alliance" Yep, that one too.
3-4 - "Fannish Housekeeping" We keep house??
4-5 - "The Evolution of Marriage" Another interesting one.
4-5 - "Vampiric Lore and the Twilight Phenomenon" Otherwise known as "This is a vampire". This is "Twilight" Notice they have nothing in common. Also, vampires don't sparkle. Thank you for coming....."
8-9 - "Future Technology of the Past" Could be fun or depressing, either way.
8-9 - "Faires Out There" The title has me curious.
10-11 - "Mad Scientist Evil Laugh Contest" I do a good "New Number 2" laugh, can I enter?
11-12 - "Philosophy of the Undead" I Kant see the point to this. Isn't this just beating a dead Hesse??

Saturday:
http://norwescon.org/documents/panel_grid/saturday_am_grid_v1.pdf
http://norwescon.org/documents/panel_grid/saturday_pm_grid_v1.pdf

12-1 - "Steam Punk 101" Could be interesting
1-2 - "Steam Punk 102" Could also be interesting
2-3 - "Steam Punk 103: Props" ALSO could be interesting
2-3 - "Polyamory 101" Based on past panels at other conventions, this can either be a) useful or b) an utter trainwreck, depending on the people doing the panel.
2-3 - "Exoskeletons" and "Introduction to Armor" Wouldn't it make more sense to have these one after another?? :-)
5-6 - "Advanced Polyamory" Again, really depends on the people involved on the panel.
9-10 - "Everything You Wanted to Know about Alien Sexuality" Aka "Windows networking for Macintosh/Linux Administrators" Oh, it's not? My bad...

Sunday:
http://norwescon.org/documents/panel_grid/sunday_grid_v1.pdf

10-11 - "Family Friendly Games" Could be fun
10-11 - "Eco-Disaster Literature" Could be scary
11-12 - "Twitter, Facebook, or MySpace" d) LiveJournal
2-3 - "The Internet is for Porn" Rule 34, no exceptions

If [livejournal.com profile] edwardmartiniii is on any of the poly panels, it'll prolly be good. He's sensible, intelligent and funny as hell. He might have his plate full with the Fandance Film Festival, though.

[livejournal.com profile] sirriamnis is heading alt panels again this year and my friend [livejournal.com profile] loree is frequently on them, so I tend to find them worth my time.

Probably not interesting to you, but CiarĂ¡n, my 15 year-old will be on the Young and Queer in Fandom and Society panel on Friday and the LGBT in Fandom panel on Sunday.
