Three cubs began climbing the 30ft tree earlier this month.
The animals normally live underground but are thought to have taken to their sunny perch to escape the recent cold weather. Mum-of-one Donna, 26, of Ipswich, said: “I couldn’t believe my eyes. I thought it was a cat.”
Wildlife expert Julian Roughton said: “Foxes are good climbers when they need to be, but this is not normal behaviour. They probably enjoy basking in a secure place.”
