Well, managed to bitch at HR long and hard about their wanting me to stay in SD to babysit that godsbedammed server. Figured if they wanted me on call, they can pay me for being on call. End result, I can go up to see my daughter, but I do have to check the server every so often and make sure it's up. The pay clock starts the moment I leave to fix it - and if I'm up in SB when it happens, too bad.

Basically my daughter is at the stage where there's a concern that if I don't see her as often as I can, stranger fear is going to set in where I'm concerned.

So I try to see her at least every other week, usually every week
