Rome customs finds a drug in the manger
Customs agents at Rome's Fiumicino airport have seized a nativity scene made out of pure cocaine with an estimated street value of almost $3 million.
Airport officials say the three kilogram parcel aroused suspicions because it had been sent from Peru.
Police have arrested the recipient - a 50-year-old man with a police record who was posing as a collector and an expert on sacred art.
He reportedly claimed he was collecting a unique piece of art from South America.
Police say all the figures in the traditional scene had been fashioned from the drug.
