patgundWell, the PC that Clueless Wonder Boss was breathing down my neck about finally showed up today, 3 days late.
And the company that made the PC screwed up the order massively. Ordered a 6 bay tower, got a 3 bay desktop. Ordered a 19" monitor, got a 15" one. Ordered a 2.2 Ghz Pentium 4, got a 2.0 Ghz Celeron. Ordered Windows 2000 Pro, got Windows XP Home, etc., etc.
So, bundled up everything to be sent back to the maker. And got $1400 in petty cash to buy one from Fry's. Ended up with a 2.4Ghz Pentium 4 H-P computer, monitor, etc., for roughly the same price as the custom-built one, and slightly cheaper to boot.
Now setting up the Noldus Observer software on it, after installing the MPEG board. PITA boss is happy that I managed to save the lab some money. Still find the whole thing massively annoying
