Okay, as many of you know, I collect toys. To be precise, I collect Legos, GI Joe, and Transformers. As well as the occasional Anime toy that catches my eye.

So you would expect that I'd be thrilled over Hasbro's new "Built to Rule" line of toys.

I'm not.

An explanation - Built to Rule is a line of "Lego-Compatable" construction toys, with themes based on the GI Joe, Transformer, or Tonka lines. No comment on the Tonka ones, since I don't collect Tonka.

The GI Joe ones come with a standard 3 1/2" GI Joe figure with forearms modified with a 1 x 2 dot connector to plug the bricks into the figure. The kits build a variety of GI Joe and Cobra vehicles out of mostly lego-type blocks with some specialty pieces.

The Transformer ones use a "trans-skeleton" as a framework to build the 'bot on. You can build block versions of Optimus Prime, Starscream, etc.

Like I said, you would think I'd be thrilled. Instead, I find these damm things to be annoying at best. I dunno, something in my brain saying "lego is lego and gi joe is gi joe and never the twain shall meet?" Or just a general dislike for the "lego compatible" sets, which are usually flimsy and don't link together well.
