On a lighter note
Oct. 8th, 2003 10:46 amWent to Mysterious Galaxy last night for a talk and book signing by Lois McMaster Bujold. Was quite nice. She read a portion from the current book in progress, (which will be the third book in the Chalion series, this time taking place in the Chalionese analog to Germany), and answered questions.
When it was time to get my books autographed, (Got my hardbacks of "Curse of Chalion" and "Paladin of Souls" signed), she looked at me and said "You look familar". I mentioned that I had been at the dinner a batch of her fans did when she was in LA for a writers convention a few years ago, and mentioned the names of my friends on her list, at which point she said "Ah, yes, now I remember." and joked about a couple of the people I mentioned.
Of course, Murphy's law being what it is, I only found my hardbacks of "Memory" and "A Civil Campaign" *after* I got home. She was willing to sign up to 5 books. *SIGH!!!* Oh well, pack them for ConDFW.
