This is, of course, the universe's way of insuring that they do.
Case in point. Last thursday one of the researcher started to have a problem with getting her email. Outlook Express (Macintosh) would return a error code 1402 and a screen full of HTML garbage. Upgrading her to Entourage wasn't a go, same problem. Creating whole new accounts, no go. Finally, I installed Eudora on her machine, and it retrieved the email with no problems. I imported all of her email and contacts from Outlook/Entourage, and figured I'd take a crack at it when she goes on her two-week vacation today.
However, it seems that the idiot lab manager assumed I was spending my time sitting on my ass playing solitare, because she called in the guy in CS we work with on problems, (who used to have my job before escaping to a better one), to look it over, and specifically repeated to him a list of problems that, if she had bothered to fricking *ASK* me, I could have told her.
So he askes me, (at least someone did!), and I go over every single thing I've checked on it. At which point he goes back to say that I'm on top of it and Jackass Lab Manager needs to ask me before calling him in, because there's nothing he can do that I haven't already done.
This is just another example of the undercutting and ignoring crap I deal with on a daily basis.
