Well, one of the labs is getting rid of a batch of their old computers. And, since we have one of one of the models they're trashing, I asked for a couple as parts donors.

They gave me all of them. Intact, save for the drives, (which, because of the work they did, had to be physically destroyed.) Plus keyboards, mice, and however many monitors I cared to carry off

So now, I either have to throw away or find homes for the following.

5 SGI Indy machines
2 SGI Indigo 2 (green) machines
3 SGI Indigo 2 (purple) machines

I may keep one or two of the purples. Have no idea what to do with the rest.

SGI - Silicon Graphics workstations. Very high-end, powerful, (for their day) RISC-based Unix boxes

Oh, well. I don't speak Unix, although I hope to someday.

If you've ever watched a weather report on a TV newscast in the late 80's or early 90's, you've seen what these workstations do: Excellent video quality graphics and math/science research calculations.

Hmmm, I certainly wouldn't say no to a "nice computer". Blessed Be, Angelique

Monitor? ::Perks up:: Any chance of you getting your hands on an IBM compatable monitor? I'm not fussy on size and type.
