Good and bad....

patgundDid the certification test yesterday. Bad part - they gave me the wrong test. Good part, I still scored 60 or 60% on it with no studying.
Still would have prefered getting the test over with.
Went to preview night for ComicCon, then home.
Went back thursday for ComicCon, and the first real test of my TIE outfit. For the most part, very well recieved. and has been approved as "canon" for Lucasfilm events. I'm now a member of the 501st. However....
Okay, having been in faire and the SCA, I've encountered the so-called "Costume Nazi", or, as I call them, "Muslin Terrorists". These are the types of people that delight in tearing down anything that anyone else does, because They Are The One True Authority.
Sad to say, the 501st has an example of this type of vermin as well.
Gentleman came up while I was in the TIE suit. Turns out he's the quartermaster for the 501st's TIE detachment. We exchange greetings, and then he says "Okay, now let me tell you everything you've done wrong on your costume....."
WTF???
Nevermind it's been approved as Lucasfilm canon, never mind that the local 501st XO has said it's better than *HIS* TIE outfit, this twit has to make himself feel like a big shot. (And the thing was, he wasn't in a SW outfit himself, but was dressed in a uniform from Stargate SG1.)

Anyway, going back tomorrow, this time in my full Jedi outfit, working this time with the *other* SW group I'm in, The Rebel Legion, (the Rebel sister group to the 501st). The Jedi outfit was already approved as canon, and I was accepted as a member last week.) Saturday has me, (and a *lot* of people), making a mad dash as the RL is doing their group photo at 2:30, and the 501st is doing theirs at 3:30, and I'm not the only one who's a member of both groups. Sunday may see either my Ringwraith costume, or my "Jedi on vacation" outfit......
