Road Trip theoretical
Sep. 7th, 2004 03:22 pmWell, looking like the October road trip is plodding along nicely.
The game plan at this point is I'll be hitting US 99, (or as much as that route as is still drivable) around October 14th. Depending on route and traffic, I aim to be in Vancouver, BC by the 15th. (and very much looking forward to meeting
catmcroy then as well.)
Return trip is somewhat up in the air, but I want to start off on US 101, with a tourist stop in Seattle and a family stop at my brother's house in Portland. I should end up in the Bay Area by the 20th or 21st. Since various people, (including
farmount, and the
ag_unicorn /
dancing_star /
thats_ms_dragon grouping have made it quite clear I'm to visit them while on the trip, I suspect I'll be there for a few days.
Return trip down US 101, including trying to trace parts of old 101 in Orange and San Diego county, (I recently discovered that my work is on an old alignment of 101)
cahwyguy's website listed three books on US 99 I may try to find.
This is going to be an interesting trip, the least of which is the fact that it's the farthest north I've ever been, the first time I've been in Canada, and the first time I've stayed overnight in a different country.
39 days.......(quiet happy look, mixed with impatience)
