Well, that was interesting.....
Apr. 2nd, 2005 02:05 amWent to the Escondido Toys R Us to troop tonight. Many of the TRUs are doing a "midnight madness" sale of the new Episode III toys.
Someone got a picture of me in my TIE outfit posing with an Escondido Police Officer. I'll try and get a copy.
Didn't get anything more than a $9.00 lego set and some "Dark Side" M&M's, (damm, those things are good), but it was still fun to do. I need to redo the rivets and reglue some parts of my chestbox and armor though.
The Morena Toys R Us was going all out - they had the SD Star Wars Society doing trivia games and entertaining the line. In exchange for that, the members got to go in an hour early to pick out their toys, (they still had to wait until later to pay for them, but they would set the baskets aside for them.) The Escondido TRU though had a rather pissy manager who was taking the attitude that "well, district manager said they could be there, but I don't want to encourage them in any way shape or form. (sigh) Oh well, was still fun.
