In a iffy mood. Thought I had a date tonight with an old friend that I've been interested in.

Instead, I got called this afternoon and got the "changed my mind, I like you as a friend and don't want to jepordise that" speech.

Oh well, at least she called, and didn't stand me up like the last three attempted dates I've had. Still, I'm not doing very well.

Sorry to hear that you are having a dry spell and an unlucky one with pals. Joel was my friend before we were anything else. I don't know why that is such a huge deal. Although, it would be sad to lose a friend if things didn't work out.
