Today is here, as fresh as rain,
No given reasons, hidden pain.
A new book opens, what is this fear,
Footsteps uneasy, the path unclear.
Familiar faces, they are no more,
Feelings exposed, emotions raw.
The past has gone, today is here,
Tell me reasons, my heart feels sore.
Words are cheap, our actions speak,
What we give, we shall one day reap.
Memories flooding, wrapped in love,
Fly me home, on the wings of a dove.
Please hold me tight, help me see the light,
Energies weak, no need to fight.
Sit awhile, turn the page,
Don't let this sadness, turn to rage.
Feel the moment, not the past,
Let memories linger, forever last.
This storm will pass, guide us to the sun,
With new beginnings, help us to carry on.
