Space.com has a poll on their front page asking the following question:

"Recent stories paint NASA as a pork barrel bonanza for its contractors and centers. Is this business as usual?"

I heard the SCSC was one big pork barrel. They used drums (presumably 55-gallon drums, lots of 'em) of ethanol, an enterprising employee took the couple hours it took to get a liquor tax waiver for them, and he was told he didn't need to do that.

But I have no personal anecdotal knowlege of NASA.
