Moment of Trek Weirdness
May. 4th, 2006 10:06 amI found out that one of my favourite bad movies, Night of the Lepus. is out on DVD.
This movie about giant killer bunnies that rampage though the Southwest, (and terrorise Ajo, Arizona), is infamous. (Curiously, it's also the movie playing in the Oracle's apartment in "The Matrix".
Many people know it starred Star Trek actor Deforest Kelly as a college president, (first chance to see Deforest Kelly in polyester before "Star Trek - The Motion Picture"!). However, it turns out the sheriff in the movie is Paul Fix, who played Dr. Mark Piper in the second Star Trek pilot "Where No Man Has Gone Before" All it lacked was John Hoyt, who played Dr. Phillip Boyce in the first pilot, "The Cage"
So it seems that appearing as a Star Trek doctor means eventual appearences in crap B movies.
Obviously if they ever do a remake of "Night of the Lepus", they'll have to hire Gates McFadden, Alexander Siddig, Robert Picardo, and John Billingsley.......
