Dropping off a package to be shipped off, and found a crate of four ferrets at the loading dock, (oh, excuse me, since we're in California, they're not ferrets, they're deformed cats), waiting to be shipped to one of the animal labs.

Date: 2003-12-09 01:30 pm (UTC)Short form - California Fish and Game are ignorant assholes.
Long form - F&G believes that the domesticated ferret is a threat to the agribusiness industry in California, and can promote the spread of rabies, (they keep claiming there's no rabies vaccine for ferrets, even though there is).

Date: 2003-12-09 01:11 pm (UTC)Heck, I had an instant temptation to ask for one myself. And I'm not even sure if they're allowed here or not. (I *am* at my legal limit for pets in the household of any species, tho, which is why Mr. Homeless Cat has to go to the shelter - sigh - Julie decided not to take him.)
