Well, I saw their website, and they say they can be designed to spin like a weather vane, which supposely helps to make them safe in hurricane or tornado weather.
I don't think I'd want to be in one during such though.
And I'm sure some showoff would eventually want to make one out of a DC-10 or 747.....though those would be a lot more tricky to deliever to site.
The theory is that the plane/home would remain intact and "safe" at windspeeds up to 300 mph. (Since the wings have been degraded to prevent lift, you shouldn't have the "lawn dart" effect of one's home going airborne and taking out the neighbor's house)
That's the theory. Personally. I wouldn't stay in it during those conditions - even if it was "safe" per se. Especially not if it was set to spin in the wind - I really don't want to get motion sickness in my home.
