It's Pancakes! In a can!
Jan. 19th, 2008 08:40 pmTonight for dinner,
seattlejo, Little Bit, and myself decided to test out new Batter Blaster, the organic pancakes from a spraycan. The reactions I've seen so far of this product range from "How lazy can you get?" to "Pancakes from a can? Welcome to 2008!".
The thing I noticed right off the back is how EASY it is to control the flow and size of the pancakes. Which lends itself to making strange and unusual shapes of pancakes. Which can be bloody hard to flip.
Tastewise, to me, they tasted decent. Kinda of sourdoughy.
As for my test subjects:
seattlejo: "Fermenty, carbonated"
Little Bit: "Good!"
Little Bit was jealous of the pancake dots that Seattlejo made with it too.

Here's the can in all it's glory

Here you see the business end ready to go. Basically it's much liked whipped cream. Only thicker

And here's test subject #1

And we're off, with the first pancake out of the can

Here Seattlejo makes batch #2. The spraycan really works in making small pancakes

Chocolate Chips were optional

Here's batch #3. Because it's so easy to control, you really want to try fun and funky shapes.

However, fun and funky shapes make it hard to flip

Batch #4 It seems to make smaller pancakes better than larger ones, the larger ones seem doughy

My test subjects discussing the experiment. Or smoozing, one of the two

Final batch. Yeah, got playful

And here we go, none the worse for wear.
