To my various friends in the Dallas / Ft. Worth Area, I need some help from a native Sushi guide.

Some people on the Lois McMaster Bujold list are thinking of going en masse to a sushi place during ConDFW. Since many are not local to the area, there's been no real suggestions.

Any suggestions? (Hotel is in Richardson) I know there's a Todai in Plano, but that's the extent of it.

Y'know, this *is* Fort Worth, historical cattle town. You can get some lovely steaks here.

Somehow coming FROM San Diego, on the coast, where fresh seafood is abundant, TO inland DFW, to eat sushi, seems odd.

Even odder than eating sushi usually seems.

But maybe it's just me.

Last time I was out there, Angelique and her s/o took me to a Brazilian BBQ place called Rodizio, that had a menu that can only be described as "Meat on Skewers, Broiled, lots of it". I think she told me that the one we went to was no longer in business, but I would like to find another one as good. (Texas de Brazil and Fogo de Chao have good reviews on-line And Texas de Brazil has locations in Dallas and Ft. Worth)

As for eating sushi, well, some people like it, others call it bait. I like it. Go figure. :-)

I am your native sushi guide.

There is a buffet place (all you can eat sushi, but hefty price tag - but also has sashimi and tendori and dessert).

I also know three-four other reasonably good places, although smaller. With a large party we'd best be making reservations. Let me know.

Well, I have the location of Todai noted and instructions from the hotel to Todai And there's supposed to be a decent Vietnamese/Chinese place near the hotel as well. Depends on what the rest of the list wants - getting them to agree on things is like herding kittens.

I posted but I don't know what happened to the bloody thing. I suggested Todai as it's in Plano and not far away. Darned good thing we have each other's land lines! Blessed Be, Angelique

Paul says Fogo de Chao is wonderful. HE'S been there. I'd tend to recommend that. Blessed Be, Angelique
