Coming back from Alderwood Mall, I ran afoul of a motorcycle cop for the Lynnwood PD.
The claim was I was doing 57 in a 35 mile an hour zone. Since I had just gotten on that street less than two blocks previously and was in the flow of traffic, I found this, well, impossible to believe.
So I went back to where I entered that street.
35 mph. Then just as it goes over 41st street, it very suddenly drops to 30 mph, (brand new sign), with the cop in the driveway RIGHT behind the sign. Which means I was pulled over for going over 35 in a 30 mph zone.
On the other hand, the ticket was written for 15 mph over, a claim of 50 rather than the 57 claimed. Or 45 depending on which zone he's talking about.
When I got back, I did some on-line checking, and it seems like that stretch of road is VERY well known as a speed trap.
How well known? The expresso stand on that stretch of road is called "Speedtrap Expresso".
*Grumble* I know DAMN well I wasn't speeding. But this seems to be Lynnwood's way of getting revenue.
