Travel Notes
Feb. 20th, 2004 03:01 pm7:31am (PST)
Currently on the flight to D/FW. Ack I'm starting to suspect I'm either not used to flying anymore, or I'm developing a dislike for it.
Maybe that's just having to deal with the wonderful people at TSA security. Had the lovely joy of having to remove everything metal I was wearing and getting a patdown search after the metal detector went off a second time. They think it was the zipper in my pants. (Shakes head)
This is the first plane trip I've take though since September of 2000. Again, I may just not be used to it.
San Diego International Airport needs WiFi access. iPass tells me that D/FW has it, so I'll see about post this when I get there, and also let people know I arrived safely. If not, the hotel should have broadband.
We had an hour of seat belt sign because of CAT. Right now we're supposed to be over Arizona / New Mexico, but you couldn't prove it by the scenery outside - nothing but clouds as far as the eye can see.
And the "bistro bag" they gave us for breakfast wasn't very good. some of the foulest smelling blueberry yogurt I've ever encountered, and a granola bar. Oh joy. Some ginger ale settled my stomach though - stilly me, my ginger altolids are in my checked luggage riding underneith me.
I'd pop in a DVD, but the person ahead of me practically has his seat in my lap. Feh.
Flight's due at D/FW at 11:30am CST (9:30am PST)
3:00pm CST
In Richardson, TX.
celticdragonfly was nice enough to meet me at the airport and drop me off at the Car Rental place. Where, it was discovered, that the car rental place charged $100 more than the reservation price as a "security deposit". Was able to work out something, but I'm massively cash poor until Friday. Not fun.
At least I'm in the hotel and safe.
