Evening panels

Attended two of the three "adult" panels at ConDFW.

The "Future of Sex Toys" panel was hysterical. They started with steam-driven vibrators used to treat "hysteria" in victorian times, and went on though vibrators from 1900-1980, and then on to things like "Real Doll". Massively funny.

The dating panel was also interesting - and useful, especially for someone like me who's trying to work though shyness and massive lack of self-confidence. Some really decent advice. And the panelists liked my ideas enough that I managed to "win" four hershey's kisses and two condoms. (Laugh) If only they had some advice on how I could manage to, oh, show a woman I actually might be interested, rather than the almost automatic assumption that I'm gay that it seems the majority of women I'm interested in seem to have.

Food for thought at any rate.

I'm really trying some of the ideas that ckgriffin gave me on how to be social. I was never very good at being social, and I've become horribly shy and withdrawn over the last three years. But I'm trying. Really, I am.

I'm going to be at the Con today, with Celine and Werehatrack around the dealer's room and such. Look for a 5'6" not-very-redhead with glasses/blue eyes, the palest skin south of a vampire, and come up and introduce yourself. I'll see if I can email you my cell phone privately, too, but I'm not sure you have a phone there.
