August starts out busy, with more and more attempts by "TexasDarlin", "Polarik", "TechDude", and "Judah Benjamin" to keep their pet theory from going off the rails completely. Their main problem being that it's already off the rails, overturned, and is in a ditch burning. Much like Muhammad "Bagdad Bob" Saeed al-Sahhaf, they're insisting that they will overthrow and defeat the heathens while things are falling apart around them.

1 August - And "TexasDarlin" starts out the month with promises of future "Judah Benjamin" stories. (I have to admire her honesty, at least she's calling them "stories". Though "fables", "myths", and "bald-faced lies" might be a bit more accurate.

She also promises a upcoming article from a "Dr. Kate" about "The Canada Theory". I'm going to hazard a guess and assume this is the claim that Sen. Obama was born in Canada, right? (Let's see, they've claimed, Canada, Indonesia, Kenya, and the Phillipines. They are really grasping at straws on the citizenship issue, aren't they?)

2 August - And while "Judah Benjamin" calls his post "A Disaster Waiting to Happen", a more accurate name would be "Here fishy fishy fishy". Because this has become nothing more than a wholesale fishing trip, desperately trying to find anything - ANYTHING to "prove" this misshapen excuse for a theory once and for all. "Mr. Benjamin" starts off by reminding people he is not a lawyer, but it seems he likes pretending to be a legal scholar on the Internet. Because this particular word salad is pretty much a great big game of "let's pretend".

Remember what I said in Part 3 about "It doesn't matter if Sen. Obama presents these things or not. Why? Because it will NEVER be enough Even if he were to do all these things, the PUMAs and their right-wing allies would just find something else more and more and more unreasonable to demand." This post is an excellent example of this. Because now "Mr. Benjamin" is demanding:

"a) His Legal Name and Age.

b) His Legal Parentage and Place of Birth.

c) His Legal (Sole) Nationality/Citizenship.

d) Whether or not he has EVER been a Citizen of any Country other than the USA.

e) Whether or not he has ever Registered for Selective Service.

f) Whether or not he has any outstanding Tax Debts and his current Tax Status.

g) Whether or not he has any outstanding Criminal Convictions, etc. [Even unpaid Parking Tickets may count.]

h) Whether or not he is suffering from any Mental Illness or Condition that might render him unfit for Office. [Including any Record of Drug or Alcohol Abuse.]

i) Anything else any Court, Election Commission or Secretary of State asks him to prove."

What does F,G or H have to do with citizenship status? The answer is "absolutely nothing." But in case you had any more doubts they were a fishing expedition, he goes on to say:

"No previous candidate, so far as I am aware, has ever had to prove all of these things but they can be asked to, and Obama, almost certainly will be. One may reasonably assume he will be asked for proofs in at least two States, if he becomes the Nominee.

He will also be cross-examined about his friends and associates. Several of these questions could result in Criminal Charges, should the answers be less than adequate in the opinions of the Court, the various Secretaries of State, or State Electoral Commissions/Boards. If any of these questions produce negative results he will be removed from the Ballot in that State."

(Note: I will bet money that when Sen. Obama is confirmed as the nominee, crackpots like "Mr. Benjamin" will try to challenge in court. And they will get laughed out of court too. I will also bet money that when he wins the general election, the next day people like "Mr. Benjamin" will try and challenge the results claiming "he's not a citizen")

"Mr. Benjamin" provides a great example of "concern trolling", saying pius things like "Unless and until he proves all Reasonable Doubts baseless, Senator Obama should remove his name from contention. If he does not do so he risks promoting severe problems for the whole country, as well as for himself". The problem is that there is NO level of evidence that will satisfy these people. Just since he started posting on the blog of "TexasDarlin", he has increased his list with more and more unreasonable demands, all in an attempt to salvage their pet obsession.

1 August - And one of the players of this little game leaves as "Polarik" announces he's taking his ball and leaving Townhall, closing his blog there. To the end, he's still claiming that the COLB that the state of Hawaii CONFIRMED was real is actually a forgery. His final post:

"This blog is now closed

My work here is done.

Anyway you slice it, there's ZERO proof that the Kos COLB is genuine, and a sh*tload of proof from my research and that of TechDude.

Everything else is just more endless speculation.

and

"The real Obama COLB contains his adopted name of BARRY SOETORO and stepfather's name LOLO SOETORO".

So, a couple days after Dr. Hrawetz hands "Polarik" his butt publically, "Polarik" cries, loudly insists "It's true, it's true", takes his ball, and leaves. However, He also worked in the "Barry Soetoro" claim, which "TexasDarlin" and "Judah Benjamin" started bringing up only a few days earlier, and "Polarik" had never mentioned up until now, much less showed any proof that it was on the COLB. This tends to tend support to my observation that they're moving away from the "forged COLB" myth into questioning Sen. Obama's citizenship.

2 August - "TexasDarlin" has an announcement that Techdude is is wrapping up a NEW EXCLUSIVE report for TexasDarlin that will be even more conclusive than his last one.. I suspect strongly she's starting to get pressure to prove her sources, because she's claiming that "Polarik" is a "documents expert with 20+ years of computer expertise") and "Techdude" is a "computer forensics specialist with 30+ years of experience"

Now a couple days ago, "TexasDarlin" claimed two experts with over 60+ years of experience. Looks like 50+ to me.

Which still begs the question, if they are who they claim to be, why are they hiding behind on-line nicknames. Certainly if they're as skilled and experienced as they claim, they would be used to such things like proving their identity and skills. Especially "Techdude", who "TexasDarlin claimed on 20 July was a "Board certified as a forensic computer examiner and for the previous six years also licensed as a private investigator.". Of course, "Techdude" is also claiming local law enforcement is behind the supposed car vandalization and dead bunny thing.

Anyway, all the announcement is, is mostly an excuse for her to reprint a comment from "Polarik" which is yet another "I'm right, damnit". Looks like his quitting his own blog hasn't kept him away from "TexasDarlin". It's kinda funny because it STARTS with him saying "I strongly believe that all of the text that was forged onto the COLB image was actually his original BC information." So he's saying it's a forgery, but just happens to have Sen. Obama's original BC information. Which tends to suggest they're going more for the "forged to hide adoption" angle now, rather than the most obvious thing, which is that it's in fact a legit copy of his COLB that's been confirmed by the state of Hawaii, and they're just trying to find something else to accuse Sen. Obama of.

It's now pretty much obvious that three things are going on with "TexasDarlin", "Judah Benjamin", "TechDude", and Polarik".

1) The only ones accepting the "COLB is a forgery" story now are true believers. Without the slightest bit of information about the professional bona fides either "Techdude" or "Polarik", the claims are looking more and more like they're grasping at straws. And much like Larry Johnson's claim about the "Whitey Tape", more and more of "TexasDarlin's" posts are of the "really, the smoking gun will show up any day now, honest" variety.

2) It's becoming more and more obvious that the line of attack is migrating towards questioning citizenship, by either a supposed adoption or Sen. Obama's father's Kenya origin and a dual-citizenship situation. Hence the reason the faux-legal scholar "Judah Benjamin" seems to be showing up more and more.

3) If all else fails, it's a fishing trip intended to figure out what they can throw that will stick It's also obvious the only people actually buying into this ongoing fable are those who need to believe ANYTHING negative about Sen. Obama to justify their own hatred.

In much the same way a cottage industry started in the 1990's based on more and more outlandish rumours about the Clintons, designed to feed into the paranoia of those willing to believe anything negative they heard about Bill and Hillary Clinton, so "TexasDarlin" seems trying to set up her own cottage industry for the Obama haters.
