patgundWell, got back from the Conference from beyond hell. Waiting for me was a nastygram from the SB county dept of child services, threatening to report me to a credit agency for a supposed $1400 I owe in back support.
Problem being is that I don't *owe* any support. I am caught up in support and then some, and C has never faulted me on my support. Problem stems from the time when C had to go on public assistance because her ex-husband wouldn't pay *his* child support + spoucal support, and SB decided I was paying too little in support, and proceeded to hit me with a bill and a court judgement for twice what we had agreed on. Which, legally, they can do as long as the person with custody is on public assistance. What sucks is that the person will only get $50 of that amount, and the rest goes to reimburse the county for their costs.
C is off public assistance, and we thought we had this mess cleared up. Seems that may have not been the case. Here we go again.
