Amused Gund.....

patgundWell, I'm an amused Gund today. Work decided to give me wed-friday off, paid, as a thanks for all my hard work. I suspect my lab manager decided I was coming way too close to either burnout or stress-related disability. And working while sick may have helped. Either way, a much needed mini-vacation.
Blast from the past today. Last June, I had interviewed at MusicMatch for a Tech Support supervisor position. (This was after I was laid off at hell...err, I mean WebSideStory.). Well, MusicMatch had offered me the job - and then had to pull the offer when they laid off a batch of people. (sigh) So it goes. They did say they wanted to hire me when the time was right.
Well, they contacted me to see if I was still interested. Pay isn't as good as I'm making in my field now though. Nice to know that a year later, they still want to hire me.
Met with Menolly, Aahz, Serene, and a few other people from alt.poly for dinner this evening. Was quite fun. Menolly and Aahz are neat people. For that matter, everyone at the table was pretty cool.
Dunno if I'll be at ComicCon. It's the same weekend as the Kingdom Arts and Sciences expo, and I already had promised I'd be there. Plus, Selene is doing a SCA Iron Chef battle - and the theme is Garlic. This I gotta see! (and, being a member of her household, I can sample as well.)
C's other s/o, Star, is due out from Florida this week. He's going to try and find a job out here. Here's hoping he can. (Of course, the ironic thing is if he did, *I'd* become the farthest-away member of this relationship. Go figure.)
Anyway, I'm a sleepy gund. So off to bed I go. (yawn.)
