Just saw the trailer for LucasArts almost-completed-but-we're-cancelling-it-for-yet-another-shitty-star-wars-ripoff game "Sam and Max 2"

http://www.lucasarts.com/products/freelancepolice/images/movies/trailer_1.mov

Pardon me, I must go perform random acts of mayhem to make up for this loss. Then go home, fireup ScummVM, and play "Sam and Max Hit the Road". for the (mumble mumble)th time.

Damm, and I would have considered buying a PC just to play this game.

*Grumble*

are there not PC-emulators for MacOS?

Yes, but....

Virtual PC will run Windows, but the emulation, while decent for many business apps, is a crawl for games. Remember, you have to emulate the processor, which will take a hit. It's not like WINE, where you're running Windows apps under Linux, but they're still on a X86 box.

Figure that you take a 20- 50% hit on emulation speed. So my 500 Mhz G4, (which, granted, is fairly slow as G4's go), would be about the same speed as a 250-300 Mhz Pentium 4. A decent video card will help somewhat - assuming that the version of VPC you're using supports it.

Bottom line, it's cheaper and betterto get a cheap PC for games, then to try and use VPC for gaming.

I see...

And worse comes to worse, you could always just buy the other board and processor and swap out memory and hard drive. But then, you can get a fairly decent PC for a couple hundred, so that might not even make a difference, just spring for a KVM and you've got yourself an easy fix, right?
