There are bad movies....
Mar. 12th, 2004 04:57 pmAnd then there are horrid ones.
Friend of mine decided, knowing my liking of weird and strange flicks, to send me a batch of them for a birthday present.
I've wanted a copy of "Barn of the Blood Llama"for a while now, (hell, I've wanted to see it for a while now), and he managed to score the DVD of it. He also decided toinflict on me send me "Vampyres" and "The Devil's Rain".
"Vampyres" is a 1974 erotic vampire "sexploitation" movie, shot on a budget of £80,000. That being said, it's supposedly fairly well done, though somewhat racy for the time.
"Barn of the Blood Llama" What can be said about this C movie except almost mind-numbingly horrid, though it is the "best movie to ever come out of Dripping Springs, Texas". "BotBL" is a 1997 flick about mutant llamas that spit toxic cud, (except for the baby llamas, who breath fire), and go on killing sprees when enraged by the smell of menstral blood.
And last, but not least, "The Devil's Rain", which came out in 1975 and has been the subject of repeated attempts by it's cast to forget they were ever in it. And it's, if not an all-star cast, certainly a strong B cast. Okay, points for any movie that casts Ernest Borgnine as the Devil, and *also* stars William Shatner, Eddy Albert, Tom Skerritt, Ida Lupino, Keenan Wynn, John Travolta, AND, last but not least, Church of Satan founder Anton Szandor LaVey!!! Wow! You can just smell the cheese and wood in this one!
