Ya know, one of the people I'm involved with is a really skinny girl. By the way I observe her to eat, she doesn't diet skinny. She just grew that way.
I think having one's tastes is fine (and being curvy as hell, of course I like it when guys like curvy). I just don't think disparaging body types is a way to work against fat prejudice.
And you know, I wasn't taking a pot shot at body types per se with that. I'm more concerned with what's between the ears more than anything else.
The *attitude* in our society that anything with curves is an automatic BBW is what gets me. By today's standards Marilyn Monroe would be considered "fat". Which to me makes no sense at all.
People come in all shapes and sizes. It's a particular illness in our culture that borderline anorexic somehow became high fashion.
I took it as a celebration of curves, not a disparagement of non-curves. I think I can see it the way you do, but must say I'll stick to my own interpretation (being curvy myself, there's just soooo much very clear and non-confusing disparagment of the curvy ones). I think patgund said it best - it's what between the ears that is bet of all.
